Oscar Highlights

oscarsThe Oscars are like my Super Bowl. The glitz, the glam, celebrating story telling as it’s brought to the big screen.

I like to spend the day prepping: filling out a ballot, indulging in delicious snacks, and watching E ridiculously early (like, before the arrivals start). I imagine what I’d wear if I were invited to the Oscars (classic black dress).

Here are my top 5 highlights from the 2014 Academy Awards:

Pharrell Williams performance of Happy Because it was so fun and for starting the ruby-shoes trend for the evening.

Ellen’s most Retweeted picture of all time (2.6 million Retweets as of this moment), which subsequently brought down Twitter. I’m just glad Ellen made an announcement to calm down the millions of people desperately clicking refresh (including me *ahem*).

Joseph Gordon-Levitt and Emma Watson presenting because the they are adorable together (and should get married).

Matthew McConaughey’s awkward Thank You speech — I was on board until he started talking about how he is his own hero (him in 10 years, but still).

Sherlock, aka Benedict Cumberbatch, in a tux… That is all.

Best Dressed Woman: Lupita Nyong’o (seriously, she looked gorgeous with her sky blue dress and jeweled headband)

Best Dressed Man: Benedict Cumberbatch (because, well, duh!)

What were your favorite moments of the Oscars?
